Dennis Bialaszewski

Dennis Bialaszewski was appointed as Director of Alpha Iota Mu at the SIGEDIAM meeting in Montreal in 2007. Dennis has been involved with IAIM for several years and has served as a Past President of the Interntational Academ for Information Management and also Program Chair for the IAIM Conference (New Orleans). In 2002 IAIM was renamed at AIS SIGED as it became a SIG Chapter affiliated with AIS. . He has also served the organization as CoEditor of the Journal of Education for MIS (with E.F. Peter Newson CoEditor) for four years.

Dennis received his Ph.D. from SUNY at Buffalo. He is a past recipient of the New York State Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He was a tenured Associate Professor at Mississippi State University prior to moving to Indiana State University where he became the Chairperson in the Department of Systems and Decision Sciences for a period of 10 years. He was instrumental in developing the MIS major at I.S.U.. He received a grant to build the first computer lab offered to business students at Indiana State University.

Dennis has more than 90 publications and is a member of several professional/academic organizations. He has written the text INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR THE FUTURE – 2nd edition (ISBN 9781465242201) and is in the process of completing the text AN INTRODUCTION TO GOOGLE DRIVE WITH APPLICATIONS (ISBN 9781465269027). He also serves on multiple journal review boards.

He has also received awards in the service area. He has served as the President of the Terre Haute Noon Optimist Club and received the Optimist of the Year Award from that club. He also was a builder of the Ryves Community Optimist Club where he served as their first president. He currently serves as the Education Chair and Board member for the Greater Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP) He also served as the Secretary for the Indiana Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association (ITOBA) for eight years.He also serves regularly as a lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret Mary Church.
